Categories : Call To Action

Our every day tasks are often not pleasant ones.  We see first hand what the results of animal cruelty and abandonment are and we do everything we can to provide medical attention and some necessary TLC to these animals.  We love what we do and have been doing it here in Costa Rica since 1991.  During that time we have always counted on much needed donations from people that share our love for animals and want the best for them.  We share the good stories and the bad ones and…

This beautiful Labrador was rescued from a pig farm where he lived abandoned, sick and very sad.  After being treated against Ehrlichiosis and getting the necessary blood transfusion, this wonderful animal will fully recover soon and have a second chance at a better life.  A big “THANK YOU” to the rescuers and to the veterinarians at AHPPA for saving another life.

We are continuing our efforts to help the animals affected by Hurricane Nate.  Together, the AHPPA, DR. ALVAREZ, SENASA and HSI went into the hardest hit towns and suburbs.  We treated 50 dogs/cats today with neutering, deworming, treating and closing wounds, defleaing along with the adminsitration of vitamin supplements and antibiotics in addition to general veterinary consults.  They really needed our help and we were glad to be there for them.

Categories : Fundraisers

Today we started spaying/neutering 120 cats here in Costa Rica.  By providing transportation for these cats, we can safely spay/neuter them at our shelter.  Not only are we providing a much needed service to their owners, we are also helping to control the pet population and offer these cats a greater chance at a better life.  We are setting up a fundraiser to ask for donation to cover the costs associated with this big task.  Please help if you can! Visit GoFundMe to donate to this campaign

A few good people can make a BIG difference in the life of some poor animals.  This dog was pregnant and was tied to a post without food or water in the hopes that she would die.  We received a phone call and were able to go out and rescue this poor dog.  After receiving some much needed nutrition and TLC, she blessed us with the birth of her puppies at our Animal Shelter.
